Tell us a little about yourself (family, pets, etc)
My name is Jordan Cessna, and I have been married to my wife, Callie, for 7 years. We have a precious 2-year-old daughter, Elle, and a chocolate labradoodle named Bulleit. Our family faithfully attends Zion Baptist Church and enjoys being active within our community.
What do you do for a living and how long have you been in that position?
I am the owner of Belle Homes LLC – a residential construction company that specializes in new construction and large-scale remodels for homes in our community and surrounding communities. My wife and I started Belle Homes LLC in July of 2023. However, I have been in commercial and residential construction for 10 plus years. Fun fact – Belle Homes LLC was named after our daughter Elle, who we lovingly call “Elle Belle”.
Have you always dreamed of being a contractor and owning your own business? When did you know you were ready to become an entrepreneur?
Building homes and owning my own business has always been a dream of mine. The family home is incredibly important, and I am honored that I build homes for families in our community. Callie and I knew we were ready to take the leap and start Belle Homes LLC after a lot of prayer and much support from our family, friends, and community.
What do you enjoy most about the work you do? What are some of the challenges?
The personal aspect of home building is definitely what I enjoy the most. The home is where the family prospers and memories are made, it’s such a blessing to be apart of that for so many families in our community. With all things comes challenges though, different days present different things – the hardest one is probably weather (because you truly can’t control it!).
How do you balance work and family life?
Like many people can attest to, it is not always easy balancing work and family – but it is always worth it. Providing for my wife and daughter, is one of the most important things I can do as a husband and father. I am grateful I am able to provide for our family, while also doing something that I love, building homes.
When you aren’t working on homes, what hobbies do you and your family enjoy?
I really enjoy the outdoors: golfing, hunting, fishing, you name it! Golf has started to rise to the number one spot though, Callie and Elle both have clubs now too…it is just a great way for us all to get outside together and enjoy some leisurely family time.
Belle Homes LLC has had the opportunity to partner with Marsha’s Place Pregnancy Center. Tell us a little about your involvement with this organization and what it means to your family to support local community organizations and businesses such as this one.
Marsha’s Place is near and dear to mine and Callie’s heart. Callie was previously a board member at Marsha’s Place and rolled off at the end of 2023, to help our family focus on the start-up of Belle Homes LLC. During the Night for Life (Marsha’s Place annual fundraiser in the spring) in 2024, the One-by-One project was rolled out. I looked at Callie and told her “this is how we can stay involved, this is how we can help”. I reached out to Jared, the Executive Director at Marsha’s Place, and told him I wanted to volunteer in whatever capacity they would have me. Since then, I have happily been the volunteer general contractor for the One-by-One project with Marsha’s Place.
If you could give advice to someone interested in becoming a contractor, what would you say?
My best piece of advice, learn the trade from someone respected in the industry and stay honest.
