Calling all curious minds! The Kids Lab is a drop-in program for children and their caregivers to explore, create, and have fun together. Each week features a short, hands-on activity — and no two weeks are the same!
Week 1: Stories — cozy read-alouds and storytime fun
Week 2: STEAM — hands-on STEAM activities
Week 3: Games — board games, puzzles, and playful challenges
Week 4: Craft — simple, creative projects for all ages
Drop in anytime between 3 -6pm and join us for a new adventure each week! This program is a family program and is designed for children and their caregivers to work together. Jump-start your New Year with an exciting fitness challenge – the YMCA Indoor Triathlon As the third event in a three-race-series with the Evansville and Washington YMCAs, this is your chance to push your limits in a fun, supportive environment. You’ll swim, bike, and run for 15 minutes each, aiming to go as far as you can in every segment. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or trying something new, this event is for you! Audubon WILD! Avian Encounters in Art and Nature

John James Audubon State Park & Sloughs Wildlife Management Area
Attention avian enthusiasts! Experience Kentucky’s birdlife and natural beauty through guided tours, museum exhibits, and engaging wildlife programs. This collaboration between John James Audubon State Park and KY Fish & Wildlife’s ‘Kentucky WILD’ program, will combine wildlife-watching adventures with Audubon’s art. Guided van tours led by KY F&W and Park staff, a biologist’s presentation on Kentucky’s eagle population, a live raptor program, and John James Audubon Museum admission is all included in the weekend’s activities. Youth Wilderness Survival Workshop
Saturday, March 7 @ 12 – 3pm
John James Audubon Museum
If you found yourself in a wilderness survival situation, would you know what to do? Have you ever tried to make a fire without matches, find your way in the forest, or build a temporary shelter? Youth ages 10-16 may attend this hands-on survival workshop. Hike-preparedness and basic survival skills will be discussed and practiced, as youth learn to make use of surrounding natural resources. Cost: $15. Pre-registration is required with the registration deadline on March 4. Fee is non-refundable after March 4. The workshop will take place rain or shine. Children’s Survival Skills Workshop

Cost: $12 per child, ages 6-9; pre-registration is required; class size is limited.
If your child became separated from you and lost in the woods, do you think he/she would know what to do to survive until found? This Children’s Survival Skills Workshop may be just what your child needs! Youngsters ages 6-9 will learn some basic skills to help them feel less frightened and more confident about being alone or lost. During this hands-on workshop, the park naturalist will share tips for preparing for an outdoor outing, taking shelter, and for helping alert Search & Rescue personnel.Cost: $12. Pre-registration required with the registration deadline on March 11. Fee is non-refundable after March 11. The workshop will take place rain or shine.
