You can do anything you set your mind to as long as you work hard and want it enough. In our baseball tournament, my team and I had to come back from a deficit to win the championship.
In the first inning, the opposing team, the Louisville Greys, scored a couple of runs and we did the same. The next inning, they scored four runs. The score was 6-2 in the top of the third inning. There were three more scoreless innings.
Then, in the top of the sixth inning, which is the last inning, the girl on our travel baseball team came up to bat. She got her pitch and blasted it over the left fielder’s head and one-hopped the fence. She got a monstrous double and slammed open the flood gates for us.
We were so hyped and made it so intense for them we ended up scoring ten runs! I got hit in the head with a pitch to get on base. Then, I ended up scoring one of those ten runs. They finally got three outs, but we had all the momentum. One of our best pitchers came in to close out the game for us. We got two easy outs and we needed one more to win the whole entire tournament. One strike! Two strikes! We needed one more strike to win it all! Our pitcher has a nasty breaking ball, which is a slurve. It’s a mix between a slider and a curveball. He threw it to the batter and the batter stuttered because it was so nasty. The batter tapped the ball back to our pitcher. He scooped it up, and I was ready for a throw from him, but he decided he was going to sprint all the way to the bag and get him out himself, so I just got out of the way. We won the game 12-6!
We won the tournament! We were filled with enthusiasm! We worked extremely hard to win that tournament! This shows that if you never give up on what you want, you’ll have a better chance of getting it.
