Before you go hunting, make sure you are prepared to go. You need to wear the right clothes, shoot your gun or bow at a target, then find a hunting spot.
The first thing you will need is clothes. For gun season, you need to wear bright orange so other hunters don’t think you are an animal. In bow season you can wear bright orange, but you don’t have to. You should also wear camouflage so the animals don’t see you.
The next thing you need to do is target practice. When you shoot a gun at a target or animal, you should always make sure your safety is on.
Then you will aim through the crosshairs, take the safety off, and fire at your target. When you practice with a bow, first nock your arrow. Next draw back the bow and aim. Then last, let go of the string on the bow, and the arrow will fly through the air and hit the target.
The last thing you will do before you hunt is find a hunting spot. First, find a field with a lot of seeds or grass. You could set up a tent around the area you found or you could set up a tree stand. Another idea is finding a place in the woods and sitting down and waiting.
Sometimes when you go hunting, it does not take long. Sometimes it takes a while. Eventually an animal will walk out. If it is in range, aim and try to shoot it. If it is not in range, use a call to make it come in.
That is how you safely hunt with guns and bows.
