Living in Henderson

Living in Henderson, Kentucky, is the best. If you’re looking for a good activity, come to Henderson! Everyone is welcome! There are many fun activities when it comes to Henderson. But, if I could only pick the one thing that I enjoy the most, it would be the festivals. Every year, Henderson hosts many festivals. Two of my favorite are the Handy Blues & BBQ, Porchfest. I’m only going to explain, so buckle up and get ready for the ride!

First up, Handy Blues & BBQ! At this festival, there is music and food. Oftentimes, the food they have is BBQ! In the past, there have been some amazing BBQ places like Toms Smoking BBQ, C&W BBQ, Juicy Butts BBQ, and On Time BBQ. There are also some other great food choices for people who don’t like BBQ. Now, it’s time for the music! Henderson does not mess around when they hear the word music. They always have a huge stage set up where they invite musicians or bands to come play. Anyone is welcome to come and swing by for some nice BBQ and to listen to some fun music at the Handy Blues Festival!

Next up is the Porchfest! This one is super nice. You get to walk around in the downtown area and watch and listen to people play music on their porches. It is super awesome when your favorite song starts playing. In addition, there are super yummy treats there. When I go to the Porchfest, I like to get a nice, cold, refreshing lemon shake up. It’s making my mouth water right now! Sometimes, Kona Ice even sets up! If I can’t choose between flavors, I just decide to get them all! There’s always a fun vibe going at the Porchfest!
